Other NICs in the host work just fine. I added one of these cards to my pfSense box, forgetting to disable the PXE boot features and watched the appliance take an extra thirty seconds or so to boot. First the cards are capable of PXE booting off of any of the six ports and one will see the fairly standard PXE boot screen, six times. The system does have knowledge of the NICs’ below existence though: I can report back after I get these in an ESXi server, but overall very happy with the cards in general. Each chip handles two ports for the cards 6-port total.

Saturday, December 29, I have used various Linux distributions such as Ubuntu desktop and server as well as Windows Server R2 and saw this card immediately get recognized. Aaron, installing this now on the new ESXi box. To get intdl with your certification level send a picture of your certificate with your Reddit username in the picture to the moderators.
Please message the moderators and we’ll pull it back in. With that being said, it looks like the Intel EB controllers had no issues with being recognized and working out of the box.
RB, I will post an update soon, but you can only pass them through as pairs e. I’ve seen in one scenario where someone had one of these NICs in hardware pass-thru mode to pfSense and let that guest control the bypass mode operation, however this host lacks the hardware support in the CPU to do full pass-thru, so that isn’t an option.
