0X88780078 NO DRIVER

There is something that Foobar does when it restarts, it perhaps re-scans the list of outputs, I don’t know. It’s definitely a windows problem, as a number of people said that they’d had it occur on a dual boot machine and had sound with their other OS, but not windows. I then uninstalled the M-audio and scanned for new hardware and reinstalled the drivers.

The bios tells me almost nothing, but as explained in my first post, windows xp recognizes the card and says that “the device is working properly” in device manager, but on the properties card under “audio devices” it says that the “driver is enabled but has not been started”.

I don’t see the need to turn on the Realtek on-board on my PC when the Presonus can do the job x times better quality above all. This thread is locked.

Got to the part where it tells you to go into the system devices, or whatever, and got down to the “Audio, video, game controllers” section, but when I click on it just has “Voice Modem” and NOTHING else! Thanks for your post – I’ve been trying to tackle the 0d88780078 problem after installing a USB sound device from M-Audio, which allows you to attach a guitar pickup to the PC apparently by disabling the on-board soundcard. Sorry this didn’t help. Direct Diagnoses gives me an error message 0x, indicating that no drivers are detected for sound.
